Equipping students for a globalized world with launch of International Engagement Certificate

Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) is proud to announce the launch of its International Engagement Certificate Program (IEC), set to begin in the fall term of 2023. Applications to the program will open on October 1st, 2023. This innovative program is designed to empower CUE students with the skills, knowledge, and global perspective necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and diverse world.

The International Engagement Certificate Program (IEC) offers students a unique opportunity that fosters cultural competency, global citizenship, and cross-cultural communication. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of global issues, develop intercultural competence, and learn how to effectively navigate and collaborate within diverse cultural contexts.

The International Office at CUE has strategically designed the International Engagement Certificate Program (IEC) in collaboration with leading experts in all faculties as well as the Office of Extension and Culture. The program aims to foster a community of globally engaged individuals who are prepared to address global challenges and make a positive impact in their communities.  The IEC is an exciting addition to CUE’s academic offerings. It gives CUE students an official recognition of the intercultural skills they developed. In today’s interconnected world, it is crucial for students to develop a global mindset and intercultural skills. This program will provide CUE students with a competitive edge and open doors to a wide range of career opportunities both locally and internationally.

With an emphasis on experiential learning, the IEC includes academic learning, study abroad opportunities, and community engagement initiatives. This program positions graduates to excel in a wide range of local and international career paths.
