Kontsevich Wins Shaw Price
Posted on: Jun 13, 2012Maxim Kontsevich has won the 2012 Shaw Prize in the Mathematical Sciences “for his pioneering works in algebra, geometry and mathematical physics and in particular deformation quantization, motivic integration and mirror symmetry.” The prize carries with it a monetary award of US$1 million. Kontsevich is a permanent professor at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques and a distinguished professor at the University of Miami.
