International Partnerships: 2016 Erasmus+ selection updates
Posted on: Aug 8, 2016We are pleased to announce that our partner University of Porto (Uporto), in Portugal, has selected two Concordia colleagues for an Erasmus+ scholarship in 2016: Dr. Barbara van Ingen (Dean of Students) and Dr. Edgar Schmidt (Faculty of Education) will spend a week in Porto engaging in bilateral cooperation in their fields. At the same time, UPorto has selected their colleague Dr. Paula Guerra (Faculty of Arts) to spend an Erasmus+ week at Concordia.
All these visits are to happen within the next six months. We thank all CUE colleagues who had applied, and there will certainly be more Erasmus+ opportunities in the future with our European partners.
We are thankful to Uporto for this Erasmus+ venture, for welcoming our colleagues van Ingen and Schmidt, and look forward to welcoming Dr. Paula Guerra at Concordia, who will be working in research collaboration towards the 2017 Model UN Conference in Banff and presentations with our Faculty of Arts.
Our partner in Germany University of Applied Sciences Mittweida (H-da), in Mittweida, near Dresden, has selected our colleague Ms. Zuzana Schmidtova Ritzer to spend an Erasmus+ week on campus for conversations and studies in matters of internationalization. We thank our partner H-da for the ongoing cooperation in the Erasmus+ program.
And finally, in the next weeks we will be signing our first agreement in Poland, with the University of Szczecin (USZ), thanks to the mediation of our colleague Dr. Mariola Janowicz. USZ will also invite Concordia to an Erasmus+ venture. Stay tuned.
