Is Science a Spiritual Practice?
Material Spirituality, Barbarism, & Cultural Expression
This public lecture by Dr. DeRoo will discuss Science and spirituality, themes that are often contrasted. However Dr. DeRoo will argue that science is itself a type of spiritual practice, one fundamentally animated by a type of spirituality that is deeply formative of our contemporary culture (with largely negative consequences).
Neal DeRoo is the Canada Research Chair in Phenomenology and Philosophy of Religion at The King’s University. He has taught at Brock University and Dordt College and served as the Director of the Andreas Center for Reformed Scholarship and Service.
