Dr. Shaun Aghili publishes his second I.S. Auditing related book: The Auditor’s Guide to Blockchain Technology
Posted on: Nov 15, 2022Management Professor and MISAM Faculty, Dr. Shaun Aghili has just published his second auditing book entitled: The Auditor’s Guide to Blockchain Technology: Architecture, Use Cases, Security and Assurance. This new CRC Press title is the compilation of a research-driven capstone course project involving 53 MISSM and MISAM students over two consecutive semesters during the 2020/2021 academic year. The book is comprised of 15 chapters outlining the architectural considerations, risks, implementation challenges and use cases of blockchain technology, a major technological component of Web 3.0.
“This project was a major success, and it has an interesting story behind it. The research and draft phases of the book chapters were completed during semesters when MISSM/MISAM students were being taught online! I had set up 15 research teams who ended up delivering over 350+ pages of research-based content under my supervision; an amazing accomplishment especially in light of the fact that all of the student contributors were international students whose first language was not English. A huge factor was the 100% online collaboration restriction due to COVID; luckily, I had successfully experimented with this type of collaborative research on a face-to-face basis with my previous book project a couple of years earlier. I, essentially, ended up setting up the same types of weekly research supervision procedures as in the past, albeit on a much larger scale and adapted for an online delivery format… and, thanks to my awesome MISSM/MISAM former students, it worked!” says Shaun Aghili. Dr. Aghili’s previous book, Fraud Auditing using CAATT (2019) was also the result of a two year long research project conducted by 6 MISAM students. Fraud Auditing was re-published in paperback format earlier in 2022.
