If you have a research project that includes participation of human subjects, you will need to know that CUE’s updated Gifts and Hospitality Procedures do not allow for compensation to participants in the form of cash or near-cash (gift cards). This applies for internal and external research grants held at CUE.
CUE Bookstore gift cards and logo items are allowed, up to a certain amount. The Procedures can be found on Alfresco, under Employee Resources -> Finance.
Please contact the Research Ethics Board to consult on what would be considered as allowed compensation for participants.
