Announcing the Arun Passi Memorial Scholarship for Studies in Education

Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) is introducing the Arun Passi Memorial Scholarship for Studies in Education, a $5,000 award to be given annually to a student entering the Bachelor of Education After Degree program.
Arun Passi, a CUE alumnus, unexpectedly passed away in February. He held a BEd from CUE, as well as a BA and LLB from the University of Alberta. Arun was a person full of love for his family, friends and teaching. His passion for the humanities was demonstrated by the significant impact he had teaching social studies to many high school students over the years.
Shortly after his passing, Arun’s family contacted CUE and shared their plans to create a legacy in memory of Arun’s greatest passion: teaching. They expressed a wish to start an annual scholarship that would provide a student with a tremendous gift of $5,000 each year.
While our hearts are with the Passi family during these difficult times, we are moved by their generosity and desire to support generations of students who will share Arun’s love for education and teaching. We send a heartfelt thank you to his parents Kuldip and Jagjit, brother Anil, nephew and niece Sameer and Savita, and all others who participated in creating this meaningful scholarship. You are making a true difference in the lives of our students.
