Thunder Hockey Drop Two to the First Place SAIT Trojans
Posted on: Jan 19, 2015This weekend the Concordia Thunder Hockey team dropped a pair of games to the top ranked SAIT Trojans. On Friday night in Calgary, the Thunder dropped an 8-4 decision to the Trojans. The Thunder power play unit provided 3 goals for the Thunder in the loss. Jordan Hoffman had his best game of the season scoring 2 goals and 1 assist. Nathan Smith also contributed 3 assists for the Thunder.
On Saturday night at Clareview Arena, the Thunder stayed close with the Trojans all game but fell by a final score of 4 to 2. Rhys Hadfield made 43 saves for the Thunder and was spectacular all night. The Thunder will take confidence from playing well against the ACAC's top team throughout the weekend. It doesn't get any easier for the Thunder next week as they host the MacEwan Griffins on Friday night and travel to Bill Hunter on Saturday night. The Thunder are close to breaking through and are looking to find a way to end up on the winning side of the close games they have been in lately.
