Please join us on April 9, 10, and 11 for an outdoor experience to kick-off our 100th anniversary celebrations.

For 100 years, we have gathered in the heart of Edmonton’s Highlands and committed ourselves to creating independent thinkers, ethical leaders, and citizens for the common good. Now, it is time to reflect on our past and our evolution into a leading post-secondary institution.

An Outdoor Experience

On April 9, 10, and 11, join us as we showcase the past 100 years and look ahead to the future. Our outdoor, walk through experience will include:

  • A history of the land on which Concordia University of Edmonton is situated, including a tipi, trapper’s tent, and Indigenous stories and photos;
  • An opportunity to safely watch pre-recorded performances from our students, including a CUE Cabaret presenting the past century through song and dance;
  • Stories and photos illustrating our evolution into the place we are today; and
  • A showing of a brief film* on our history.

Please note: A full version of our history film is coming soon.

Keeping Our Community Safe

We have worked to plan an outdoor experience that is safe, and prioritizes the health and wellbeing of our community. Together with Alberta Health Services, we have implemented a number of COVID-19 protocols that will be strictly enforced.

  • Please do not plan to attend this experience if you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of COVID-19. Stay home and report your symptoms to Alberta Health Services to determine if you need to be tested for COVID-19.
  • There will be greeters and signage present at the entry points of our walk through time to ensure all visitors are familiar with, and following, our protocols.
  • Masks are required. All event coordinators, organizers, and guests must wear a mask at all times to limit the further spread of COVID-19.
  • There will be hand sanitizing stations at all entry points and along the tour.
  • We will be cleaning all high touch areas frequently, and we will be using ropes and stanchions to keep individuals at a distance from all displays.
  • There will be signage posted along the tour to encourage physical distancing.

In addition to these protocols, all guests are encouraged to download and use the province’s mobile contact tracing app.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and acceptance of these protocols and look forward to seeing you soon.
