Welcome Ingrid, the new Social Worker for the Indigenous Knowledge and Research Centre!
Ingrid Tenkate is Metis with the maternal side of her family coming from Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Ingrid has spent most of her life living and working in Treaty 8 and Treaty 6 territories in a variety of positions including as a Director of a not-for-profit society, with Bigstone Cree Nation, in Indigenous Relations, and in the FMNI Unit with Edmonton Public Schools. She has also taught Social Work for both the University of Calgary and Kings University.
Ingrid and her partner live in St. Albert where they enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, traveling, reading, paddleboarding, golfing, playing pool and gardening. Ingrid is thrilled to be joining Concordia and excited to meet the students.
