Academic Credentials: ADDEH (Concordia University), MBA (University of Alberta)
Experience: In addition to lecturing at Concordia, Michael currently holds a HACCP coordinator position with Alberta Health Services (AHS) – Edmonton Zone. He was certified as a Public Health Inspector with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors in 2001, earned his certification as a HACCP auditor from the American Institute of Quality in 2003 and has recently completed a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alberta with a focus on leadership and strategy. Over the past 10 years, Michael has worked to enhance food safety in Canada through various positions within both government and industry. Most recently his work at AHS involves being the lead for implementing a provincial Information System for Environmental Public Health. Michael is passionate about food safety and believes effective communication skills are crucial to an effective public health program.
