Focus and Mandate of the Group
This research cluster brings together faculty and students at Concordia University of Edmonton, as well as those at neighbouring institutions (e.g., St. Joseph’s, King’s, Newman TC), who are engaged in scholarship involving the relationship between theology and the sciences. (Note: “sciences” refers to both natural and social sciences.) Edmonton is fortunate to host a number of scholars for whom this relationship is an active area of interest, and regular meetings take place to discuss ongoing projects, as well as the hosting of guest speakers from farther afield.
The principal aim is to provide an organized forum for scholarly discussion and collaboration. Possible outputs include: the sharing of new works-in-progress via colloquium talks; the establishment of connections amongst local scholars with a view to formal & informal research collaboration; raising the institutional research profile of CUE both locally and nationally.
