Receptionist – Student Life and Learning

Reporting to the Learning Accommodations Services Advisor, the Receptionist is responsible for providing administrative support to the overall operations of Student Life and Learning. The successful candidate will have a strong client-focus and will support collaboration, with a wide variety of stakeholders within the Concordia University of Edmonton community. The position hours are from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and answer telephone, email and in-person inquiries from students, instructors and staff;
  • Schedule counseling appointments for students;
  • Assist the Learning Accommodation Services (LAS) area with exam intake and pickup, completing Exam Checklist forms, maintaining the LAS Exam Schedule, converting alternate format documents, communicating with faculty and students, etc;
  • Post and monitor bulletin boards;
  • Prepare housing advertisements for posting on website Housing Registry;
  • Proctor exams when proctors are unavailable; and
  • General Administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Preference given to current enrolled Concordia University of Edmonton Student;
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office is required with an aptitude to learn other software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal form with a strong attention to detail, grammar, and spelling;
  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated professionalism and sound judgement; and
  • Ability to be flexible to support the timelines and deliverables of team members.

Hourly Rate: $13.00 per hour
