The emphasis in Conflict Management was created through a collaboration with the ADR Institute of Alberta (Appropriate Dispute Resolution).
A survey of HR professionals and industry leaders had revealed that most professionals deal, on a daily basis, with some level of conflict. Contemporary managers with an understanding of Conflict Management are better prepared to face the complex array of people issues in their industries. To that end, a suite of courses has been identified to form the foundation for an emphasis in Conflict Management.
Topics include Supervision and Conflict Management, and Negotiation and Mediation. The emphasis is unique to Alberta and will help to give Concordia students a competitive advantage in the market place.
