Academic Interests and Specializations
I am primarily interested in the writings of the exilic prophets in working to show continuity with the first Gospel of Matthew. I proposed and defended the position that the exilic prophets used a singular personified individual to address their entire wounded nation, and that Jesus later represented the literal embodiment of these symbolic personifications. I am interested in the eschatologies of the Western Faiths, and in the esoteric and mystical traditions of Islam (esp. Sufism). I am currently researching the Sufi and esoteric musical traditions of North India in the spirit of Revivalism Musicology. I am also interested in Consumer Behaviour and the academic study of the intersections between commerce and religion.
