In 1987, Concordia University of Edmonton began awarding undergraduate degrees in the arts and sciences. Today, we offer over 45 majors and minors in the fields of Arts, Science, and Management, two after-degree programs, three masters degrees, and several graduate certificates and diplomas.
Reporting to the President and Vice Chancellor and in collaboration with colleagues across the campus, the Vice President, Finance and Operations is responsible for the administrative leadership, management, and oversight of the University’s Finance and Operations. The incumbent provides comprehensive leadership to ensure that the University budget, campus capital planning efforts, risk management and safety policies, and resource acquisition and use, all support the University’s strategic plan and mission. The Vice President is a member of the President’s Executive Council and is responsible for providing the campus community with high quality support services and provides leadership and guidance for the approximately 50 employees who make up the following units: Campus Bookstore; Custodial Services and Security; Financial Services; Food Services; Human Resources; Information Technology Services; Legal Services; and Plant Operations.
Ideal candidates will have strong analytic skills, experience in communicating effectively, and the ability to build strong university-wide working teams with faculty, staff, students, and administrators. Applicants should have current or prior senior level experience in the post-secondary, public, or not-for-profit arenas, coupled with experience in capital project planning. Preference will be shown to candidates who possess a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. A master’s or doctorate degree is considered an asset.
