Concordia University of Edmonton strives to incorporate Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing across all programs and courses.
Our Faculty of Education ensures that Canada’s future teachers will nurture and foster forward-thinking and positive educational practices in acknowledging and understanding the contribution of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples.
In terms of student support, not only can our Indigenous students rely on the Indigenous Student Council, but also all of the supports provided by Student Life and Learning, as well as faculty and peers. We are a tight-knit community aimed at ensuring all students succeed at achieving their goals.
Concordia’s Financial Aid and Awards department can also provide advice on the variety of scholarships and awards available to our Indigenous students.
We are set to launch a complete and inclusive centre directed at providing for the needs of Indigenous students in Fall 2018. The Indigenous Knowledge and Research Centre (IKRC) connects self-declared Indigenous and non-Indigenous students with social and scientific research opportunities. It also allows students to engage in research collaborations with key industry and community partners.
