Receptionist – Academic Administration (20 hrs/week: 12:00 – 4:30 pm)

Reporting to the Director, Policy and Records Management, the Receptionist is responsible for providing administrative support to the overall operations of academic administration. The successful candidate will have a strong client-focus and will support collaboration, with a wide variety of stakeholders within the Concordia University of Edmonton community. The position hours are from 12:00 – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all Academic Administration inquires, including the public and members of the Concordia University of Edmonton’s community, exercising judgement on how to action appropriately;
  • Coordinate appointments, group meetings, and events including making room reservations, preparing the necessary materials i.e. agenda, and catering;
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging customer service;
  • Assist fellow Administrative Assistants in supporting various projects;
  • Assist the Director, Policy and Records Management with on-going projects to enhance processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in addition to an administrative diploma;
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 50 words per minute;
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office is required with an aptitude to learn other software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal form with a strong attention to detail, grammar, and spelling;
  • Experienced in working with competing deadlines and a large degree of independence;
  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • Demonstrated professionalism and sound judgment;
  • Ability to be flexible to support the timelines and deliverables of team members;
