Education and Interests:

Dr. Sean Palmer completed his MA at the University of Wales in 1996 and his PhD at the University of Reading, Berkshire, England in 2000.  His MA explored strategies of reconciliation in the novels of Elizabeth Gaskell and George Eliot.  His PhD focused on the intertextual relationship between political strategies appearing in nineteenth century periodicals and Henry James’s narrative method as demonstrated in his late phase fiction.  Dr. Palmer has published 7 peer reviewed articles on Henry James, George Eliot, Elizabeth Gaskell, Thomas Babington Macaulay, and has taught Crime fiction, the Eighteenth Century British Novel, the Nineteenth Century British Novel, Modernism, the Modern American Novel, Renaissance Drama, Literary Theory, as well as introductory and survey courses in, world literature, composition, poetry, drama and the short story.  Dr. Palmer has taught at Universities throughout Eastern Canada and the United States.
