Concordia University of Edmonton invites applications for the position of Accounts Payable Assistant.
This full-time, contract position will report to the Manager of Accounting Services and will be assisting in the efficient and effective functioning of the accounts payable department. This includes ensuring source documents are properly authorized and coded, the liability exists, and the disbursement is accurate, timely and within vendor's terms, and in accordance with university policies and procedures. Specifically, the individual is responsible for processing supplier invoices, reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies, weekly cheque runs, filing, and other related duties.
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in administration or accounting coupled with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a computerized accounts payable environment; excellent verbal and written communication; strong comprehension of accounting principles as well as proficiency in using spreadsheet applications.
